The Salvadoran American Society

The Salvadoran American Society (S.A.S.) is dedicated to strengthening U.S.-El Salvador relations through diplomacy, trade, mutual investment, cultural exchange, and humanitarian efforts. We facilitate networking and business collaborations, advance education, support emerging technologies and other industries, provide healthcare and disaster relief assistance, cultural initiatives, and strengthen the Salvadoran-American community. S.A.S. fosters partnerships that create lasting connections for a prosperous future in The Americas.

Our mission

Oscar Flores

Founder, President & Executive Director

Oscar Flores is a first-generation Salvadoran-American. Most recently, in 2024, he was a candidate for District 11 Supervisor in his hometown of San Francisco, garnering widespread support from the Salvadoran-American diaspora. With a firsthand understanding of the nuances, history, and culture of El Salvador, Oscar aims to bridge the gap between the two nations by bringing together business, diplomatic, and humanitarian leaders for mutual investment and cooperation in light of El Salvador’s transformation.

Oscar holds a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Portsmouth and a Master’s in Space Engineering from the University of Surrey in England, U.K. He is fluent in Spanish and also has a background in fashion, specializing in bespoke tailoring, management, and engineering/luxury sales. As an Orthodox Christian, Oscar enjoys dancing Argentinian tango, shooting, playing polo, practicing mixed martial arts, and serving on his church’s board as well as during the service (Divine Liturgy).
