Maritza Flores

Diaspora Ambassador


Maritza Flores* is originally from El Salvador and arrived in San Francisco, CA, 32 years ago. She studied Early Childhood Education at San Francisco City College. Over the years, she has served the community in San Francisco—particularly the Salvadoran diaspora—through community outreach and informational work. Since December 2017, she has been actively involved in Salvadoran politics. She currently serves as the Women's Secretary for Northern California and as the coordinator for New Ideas, President Nayib Bukele's political party, in San Francisco, California.

Maritza has participated in election observations in El Salvador in 2019 and 2021. In 2024, she served as President of the Salvadoran Diaspora Voting Center in San Francisco, California.

Her work includes supporting the Salvadoran diaspora and addressing needs in El Salvador. She has helped low-income individuals, provided wheelchairs, and contributed to community celebrations such as Children’s Day and Christmas by organizing gift distributions and festive events for children.
