Our mission

The Salvadoran American Society, through its boutique consulting services and nonprofit efforts, aims to strengthen U.S.-El Salvador relations by promoting mutual investment, trade, diplomacy, cultural exchange, and humanitarian engagement. We facilitate international networking, foster economic and social growth through a broad range of industries, and coordinate humanitarian efforts aimed at building a more prosperous future throughout The Americas

Oscar Flores

Founder, President & Executive Director

Oscar Flores is a first-generation Salvadoran-American. Most recently, in 2024, he was a candidate for District 11 Supervisor in his hometown of San Francisco, garnering widespread support from the Salvadoran-American diaspora. With a firsthand understanding of the nuances, history, and culture of El Salvador, Oscar aims to bridge the gap between the two nations by bringing together business, diplomatic, and humanitarian leaders for mutual investment and cooperation in light of El Salvador’s transformation.

Oscar lived in Europe for eight years, during which he completed his undergraduate studies in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Portsmouth and his postgraduate studies in Aerospace Engineering at the University of Surrey, both in England, U.K. He is fluent in Spanish and also has a background in luxury and fashion, specializing in bespoke tailoring, management, and sales. As an Orthodox Christian, Oscar enjoys dancing Argentinian tango, shooting, playing polo, practicing mixed martial arts, and serving on his church’s board as well as during the service (Divine Liturgy).
